For all the teachers out there, it’s probably no surprise that videos are the most shared type of content via Vivi’s popular screen mirroring feature. Not only are they a great way to keep students engaged, the variety of educational content available on platforms like YouTube, are super helpful when lesson planning.
But which videos are most loved by teachers?
To answer this question, we looked into the 1,500 most popular videos shared via Vivi and uncovered a few interesting trends. Check out what we discovered.
3, 2, 1…Countdowns
Believe it or not, we found the most popular video type to be countdowns and timers. In fact, 10- and 15-minute timers and countdowns make 2 appearances in the top 10 and show up more than 70 times in the top 1,500 videos.
Countdowns and timers are great tools as they help both teachers and students stay on track and make the most out of their limited time in the classroom.
Top tip: If you’re looking for a super easy way to display an analog or digital clock, stopwatch, or timer, be sure to check out Vivi’s Clocks & Timers feature.
‘Clean Up’ songs reign supreme
Taking the coveted #1 spot is a classic ‘Clean Up’ song. In fact, ELF Learning’s Clean Up song has been shared close to 4,000 times! Another 14 clean-up song varieties also showed up in the top 1,500.
Clean Up songs are a great way to get your students motivated to tidy up after a fun (and messy) activity, so it’s not surprising they are so popular amongst teachers.
Breathe in. Breathe out.
Mental health and student wellbeing are top of mind for a lot of educators, so it probably comes as no surprise that meditation and relaxion music were also featured in the top 10.
Taking just a few minutes at the start or end of class to guide students through a meditation exercise can make a huge difference when it comes to decreasing student anxiety and stress, as well as increasing focus.
Top tip: Did you know Vivi has an integration with Headspace? That’s right, as a Vivi teacher, you have access to an array of guided Headspace meditations right in the Vivi app.
Top of the pops
In addition to relaxation music, ‘The Cat Came Back,’ ‘Good Morning Song,’ and ‘Cowboy Bob (Song for Children)’ all made strong appearances in our top 10. Another popular tune that we came across in our research was the official ‘Upside Down’ song by Jack Johnson, with just over 100 shares.
Educational content came out on top
Looking beyond just the top 10 videos, we also dove into the number of videos by genre. Unsurprisingly, YouTube “Education” videos rose to the top of the list with 656 videos shared. In fact, “Education” and “Music” videos were so popular with teachers, they accounted for around 75% of all videos shared in Vivi and 100% of the videos in our top 10.
