One Vivi team member is trading his desk for a driver’s seat and his office for a caravan. Jason Wood, a dedicated Business Development Manager, is on a year-long mission taking Vivi on Tour across Queensland, Northern Territory, and Western Australia. Along the way, he’s been visiting Vivi customers and meeting new school leaders to bring personalized demonstrations, support, and training for our innovative education technology solutions directly to schools.
For Jason, Vivi on Tour is a chance to combine two passions: travelling in Australia and supporting schools. As he puts it, “It’s a perfect combination of exploring Australia and meeting with our schools…and then exploring opportunities with potential customers.”
Jason has seen firsthand the challenges faced by schools in remote parts of Australia. He says, “My territories are very expansive and have some of the most remote schools…but never really had an opportunity to visit.” This journey allows him to reach those schools directly, offering much-needed in-person support and training.
But Jason’s commitment to personalized support goes beyond geography. With over 20 years of experience as a teacher, he understands the unique needs of different school communities and the importance of tailoring solutions to meet those specific challenges.
Real experiences, real feedback
So far, the response to Vivi on Tour has been overwhelmingly positive. Schools along the Queensland coast, many already familiar with Vivi, were eager to connect with Jason. “There was a really big uptake…from our existing customers straight away, jumping on my trip webpage, and booking in meetings because they love that opportunity for a face-to-face meeting/training,” Jason reports.
Traveling from coast to coast, Jason has encountered a wide range of schools, each with unique needs and challenges.
- In Mount Isa, he visited schools excited to expand their use of Vivi beyond meeting spaces and auditoriums: “…So even though they’re existing customers with just a few units, they’re looking to explore and maybe evaluate in other areas,” Jason observes.
- Jason was also surprised by the unexpected disparity in technology access between regions: “I’m surprised that in some areas that are more remote, they’re on 5G. In some of the areas on the Queensland coast, driving from Rockhampton to Mackay, you have no Internet access whatsoever.”
The conversations sparked by these visits highlight the versatility of Vivi’s solutions:
- Digital signage: Jason has been impressed by the ways schools use Vivi’s digital signage to create eye-catching displays at entrances, share important information with parents on digital boards, and enhance presentations in large auditoriums.
- Meeting spaces: Jason also shared how Vivi simplifies professional collaboration and peer-to-peer communication, making it easy for educators to share their screens and work together more effectively.
“It just starts that conversation a bit more. In-person meetings promote a deeper conversation about the school’s needs and what other features they might want to explore,” says Jason.
Vivi on tour: Highlights and impact
For Jason, Vivi on Tour is about more than just supporting schools—it’s about rediscovering his own country. “I’ve traveled a lot over the years…but I’ve never had the chance to explore Australia so much… I’ve travelled the Queensland coast and visited Darwin, Kakadu, and Broome…but just never really understood how big and how diverse our country is,” he reflects.
While the breathtaking landscapes are incredible, it’s the impact on educators that truly resonates with Jason. He shares, “You know, I chatted with our schools on the way up the Queensland coast. When I demonstrated Vivi’s digital signage, they went ‘Ohh. This is great but we need to access OneDrive.’ I passed this feedback to our product team, and they pushed out the OneDrive integration for PowerPoint and signage within two months, which is awesome!” This firsthand feedback is invaluable, directly contributing to Vivi’s ongoing development and ensuring our solutions always evolve to meet the needs of educators.
